NIGHT OWLS

Was taken along with my new gal pal Dalila El-Arabi to a night shoot in central london. Very central london, Piccadilly circus in fact. Three models, an amazing make up artist in the presence of Miranda Tilley and a host of photographers as organized by photographic team of Carlo Nicora and Fabiana Zonca Nicora. The shoot was about the "Balenciaga Style", a midway between the futuristic and cyberpunk styles. As always I was on the run to somewhere else as well but even with time against me I was able to get some amazing shots form the first two locations I visited with them. It seems your always on the run in London. Who sleeps anymore. These are my Night Owls.

SO MUCH TO DO AND SAY

Well it's certainly been a hectic few days ands it's calmed down a bit now that it's monday. But i look back over the last week and all i can think is WHEW!! There's been some really great high one in particular being "a fly on the wall" with fellow reportage photographer Dalila El-Arabi for LYRIC LOUNGE.
Dean Atta and Deanna Rodger host an eclectic blend of soulful vocalists, sizzling new bands, poetry, dance and comedy as the Studio at Lyric Hammersmith is transformed into the LYRIC LOUNGE.

With the stage set these talented youth all under the age of 25 rocked the house with soulful lyrics, exuberant energy and a sense of purpose unrivalled by many in their fields. And not just the booked acts either, under 20 poets grand slammed their way to a victory worthy of any Wimbledon Tournament. It's no wonder so many left the event not only with the high that comes from being truely and thoroughly entertained but with the distinct impression that they were seeing the stars of tomorrow, EMERGENT TODAY! More pics of the perfomers coming soon....

IT's NOT OVER TILL IT"S OVA!!

So as London Fashion Weeks closes, we ask is the drama ENDED, is the after-partying over...,
and the answer is a RESOUNDING NO!!

For this is London, the centre of fashion. It's echoes on the streets, in our walk, in our very day to day existence. And while we all may not make it on the BIG RAMP, the whole of london is a stage.

The partying continues with the launch of LUST's Dance party tonight at BARCODE. With an the open competition to find GO-GO boys for the season's dances as well as the WORK @ HIDDEN presents BILLY BOYCE's FASHION PARTY.

So the drama NEVER ends and the partying continues.

See ya next time.

the DRAMA that is LONDON FASHION WEEK

All the drama that is london fashion week, captured on stills, in video, or logged in memories continues for another two(2) days. Stay tuned for a glimpse of some of my highlights.

WHATS HAPPENING

Just a small chink in a otherwise clogged month, so i thought i would drop a line to say all the happenings.

Well i'm working closely with designer GAVIN PIERRE MEDFORD on a number of projects together. The most immediate being a video blog/ documentary that commences during LONDON FASHION WEEK 2009. It's really exciting and I'm loving the buzz of it. Gavin's great to collaborate with as well so he makes the experience of working with him a true pleasure. I'm taking in some shows, going to loads of the after parties and loving the EXCITEMENT that is LONDON FASHION WEEK.

Which is why some of my other projects have had to be shelved a bit.....,

blackˈmanˌkīnd :the exhibition
I'm doing this one totally on my own, so i had to shelve it in order to focus on the video we'ld be taking during fashion week.

Also an Illustrator is onboard for JUICYFRUIT!! Finally this baby of mine is gonna be coming to you, and guess what, it's gonna be even BIGGER and BETTER than I imagined. I got advise from some very experienced people and even better contacts (thanks JEH). When you get to come face to face with your idol to discuss your dreams it truly gives it wings. "Pooquie, you ain't seen nothing yet heheh."

Also the guys from PATTIE SHOP DIARIES have had nothing but good reviews from their showing in Decibel this month, and so that project is gearing up to go onto the next level.

ANOTHER RASCONRAD RANT is a lil' TWEET RADIO BIT I'm playing around with at the moment. I'm hoping to get my friend from BMK Terence McDonald Humprey on board for that one as well so we'll see where that goes.

SO GOOD THINGS ARE HAPPENING ALL ROUND PEOPLE.
Stay Tuned....,
and watch this space.

UPDATES, IMPRINTS and REPRINTS

Whoa!! not wanting to be calling down the gloomy GODS but yeah things seemed a bit daark there for a bit. And i guess so it should after the high of the exhibition and the follow up events that occurred time out and away seemed pretty draining. And then to top it all off, i went and damaged my shoulder after just getting back into the swing of training at the gym after just ONE session. So i lay here wondering what the hell i was happening to my MOJO.

"but it all good"
It's just the cycle of life. We gotta have down periods - whether for rest or just recollection. To help us refine and remember, where we are, how we got here and more importantly what we're gonna do next. Makes no sense crying over split milk or harping on the mistakes of the past. What you need to do is sit down, take a breath, shoulder that load, LOOK TO THE SUN and start walking again, And i guess that what in essence my "THOUGHT4Today's" have been saying over the past week or so.

UPDATE your soul. Revisit things and places that made you smile and helped you to feel good about yourself and your surroundings.

IMPRINT on new friends and experiences. Let them show you new ways of viewing things and you know what..., get silly again. Laugh at yourself. Long and out loud.

REPRINT your course for tomorrow. Edit it with the things you've learned today and hedge it with all the hopes you want included in your future.

Things are never what they seem, usually it's BETTER; if you take the time to look.
