Lots to talk about in this issue of rasconrad presents. Ideally 'cause we're LATE. But it's all good.

The final HENCH HOMME images are up and they are BAD ASS.

These guys from my local gym prove that brothers are striving and not all about the stereotype.

From fitness enthusiasts to entrepreneurs; up and coming models to barber saloon owners.

They show that there's alot more behind the muscle than just tissue.

And the fashion victims pics are up.

EIKO and SHIV took time out from schedules to meet up with us early one morning

as we explored relationships 'the morning after'.

"FASHION VICTIMS"

you know how it goes...

The morning after the night before!!

Where did all go wrong?

Why is he being such a royal cluck up?

When did she become such a pain?

Never mind..., we still look fierce!

And of course Kaew Kongthong took us back to when

ONCE WE WERE KINGS.

It's a rocking look at essentials and excess.

Glam and glitz, and male hubris turned on it's head.

And what about me?

Well besides conceptualizing and photographing all three shoots,

I went in front the camera as lead actor for the small budget movie,

MONUMENT.

Written and Directed by Robin Schmidt aka 'El SKID'

and Choreographed by Sarah Linstra it's a fantasy dance/drama that takes a unique look

at one individual's response to knife crime and the horrors it causes.

I play the lead role of an ex-dancer blinded and confined to a wheelchair who re-lives the terror of his attack and...... well....,

LOL I can't give it all away.

But the special effects are amazing!!

the way they made me look blind.

And a copies will be posted everywhere by next week on DA BLOG, WEBSITE and FACEBOOK.

Oh and check out the radio interview that I did for FYI RADIO.

The topic was (you guessed it) SEX SEX SEX!!!

I joined a panel with news editor from BOYZ MAGAZINE and writer/director Topher Campbell

to talk about this weighty topic and the newly coined catch phrase of "sexual racism".

So what's next??

Well KERB is back.

And the first shoot styled by GAVIN MEDFORD and shot by me is gonna be called FREE TO BE.

A nude accessories shoot that'll knock whatever you have on, right off.

My year in review comes out soon as well. But what I'm really excited about..,

And yes it's been done a million times over for every major fashion mag and by every major photographer.

So don't you think it's time I put my own spin on 'ALICE IN WONDERLAND - the photoshoot.'

That's the first project for 2010.

RasConrad stars as CONRAD in MONUMENT.

RasConrad stars as 'Conrad' in MONUMENT.

The film is what you'd probably call an urban fairytale about one man's solution to the problem of knife crime in his community. Half drama, half dance film they were looking to make something slightly fantastical but with a really strong emotional quality. I play the lead (aptly named) 'Conrad' a dancer now confined to a wheelchair who although blind takes on the the knife thugs beating them at their own game.

The 'Young Conrad' is played by Mbuelo Ndabeni

a beautiful and talented dancer with the Rambert Dance Company here in the UK.

Directed by Robin Schmidt ('El Skid') Writer/Director/Editor its for the 14 Islands Bahamas Film Challenge.
Here's a little about Robin Schmidt aka "El SKID" and the work he has done.

I really pleased to have been chosen for the feature. Not only for the chance to stretch myself as a performer (as well as the WICKED behind the scene photos i'll be getting - WINK -) but also because of the positive message the film will be endearing. Filmed in a day in the middle of Hackney, Robin has gathered a well-rounded and talented team. It promises to be a wicked day once the sun keeps shining. (and/or we don't get arrested for the number of KNIVES being used in the overall film - some 140 I think at last count. But we got a permit and Police Protection all day long)

Look out for MONUMENT.

A return to FYI Radio, this time with co-panelists:

Topher Campbell - writer for the Guardian newpaper, as well as

Karl Riley - news editor for BOYZ magazine.

Interesting views were aired but like so many of these programs the "meat" of the matter in some respects truly got discussed before the programme aired as the panel sat together in the green room getting to know each other.

Here's hoping FYI continues to broach these interesting topics and allow for these varying views to be brought to the fore.

THE KING LIVES.....

Yeah, I know I know. Where've I been. What's been going on, why and where did I disappear too for so long. Well I've been re-grouping, re-cooping, re-thinking and re-negging on a lotta things.

1st of, RE-GROUPING. Pulling around me people that I needed close as I went into this cocoon. Doesn't this happen to you guys as well?? kinda just before the butterfly stage. Well anyways i needed that time to pull together. I lost a part of me as you know in what was an ended, (read as failed) relationship. And I guess, I lost a lot more than I bargained for, but more importantly, I'M BACK!!

RE-COOPING and RE-THINKING. on my motives for doing some of the things I've done. Wheter it still applies, and more over wheter some people still apply in the day to day goings on of my life. Like Madea says "sometimes you hang on to people that you should LET GO OFF"

Hence the RE-NEGGING. Some things to agree to and you realise, thats not for your benefit at all. and you need to be man enuff to SAY ENUFF!! Step off or even FUCK OFF!!
